OXFORD POETRY.
Although notable poets have produced their work in almost every geographic area of the British Isles Oxford is outstanding for its pre-eminence and the sheer number of talented poets associated with it. Throughout its history its Colleges have been the cradle for many of the foremost names in English Literature. Its University and local presses have ensured a wide spread accessibility to their work. Foremost amongst these is Blackwells whose anthologies "Oxford Poetry" appeared annually between 1910 and 1937. These gathered together the work from the different colleges and were edited by the poets themselves. Later the Fantasy Press founded by Oscar Mellor resumed publication. I D Edrich have produced a catalogue viewable on its website www.idedrich.co.uk.. or obtainable from idedrich@idedrich.co.uk which contains almost complete files of these series as well as a large range of titles from the work of the individual associated poets who include Acton, Auden, Betjeman, Blunden, Day Lewis, Done, Alfred Douglas, Graves, Ted Hughes, Aldous Huxley, Keyes, MacNeice, Shelley, Spender, Swinburne, and many contemporary poets.
